Dr Krithika completed her MBBS, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine and a DNB in Nephrology. That grounding in internal medicine matters in daily practice. Kidney disease rarely arrives alone, so much of her work involves managing it alongside diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune conditions. 

At Cardea Superspeciality Hospital, Jayanagar, she manages the full spectrum of kidney care. This includes tests to check kidney function, long-term care for chronic kidney disease, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, and assessment and follow-up for kidney transplantation. She also treats the kidney complications of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Chronic kidney disease is usually silent in its early stages. As a result, a lot of function is often lost before any symptoms appear. Finding the decline early, slowing it down, and preparing patients well before dialysis becomes necessary changes outcomes more than almost anything done later.
